Hello from Las Vegas!

I'm writing remotely from my Bally's hotel room in beautiful Las Vegas. You may be wondering how it is going and if I'm still following the Medifast program while I'm on vacation. Well ...

In all honesty, it has been difficult. You'd think that with all the food available here, there would be something I could eat for my Lean and Green but it has been a struggle. For most people on Medifast it might not be so difficult, but since I can't eat a great deal of salad greens because it bothers my stomach and digestive system, I have to find steamed vegetables instead. The Green portion of the Medifast Diet has been quite a challenge which I didn't expect.

The Lean portion of Medifast in Vegas can be equally struggling. After three days of paying for a buffet meal and searching for something I can eat, today I split a Prime Rib meal with my husband. He ate half of the 10 ounce slab of meat, and I ate the other half. I ate the steamed vegetables and he ate the rolls and potatoes. That sure beats paying $20 each for a buffet and not being able to eat much from it.

I am proud to say that I have not eaten any food that is not allowed on the diet. And there is plenty of junk food here to tempt me. But I'm not drinking nearly enough water and twice so far during the trip, I had to eat a sixth Medifast meal because I was awake 22 hours.

The first two days of my trip, I spent at the Luxor hotel and the Luxor's restaurants are the most Medifast unfriendly so far. I found the most Medifast friendly food at the Excaliber but now that I'm in the conference, I won't be traveling back to Excaliber again. Hopefully the meal splitting idea my husband helped me with today will work for the rest of the trip.

That's all for now. If I have time I'll check in again with you before I leave. If not, I'll write again when I return home. I'm sure missing networking with all my Medifast friends and supporters!

Oh, and I haven't won any money ... LOL ... but the 3 days my husband and I had to spend on vacation was fun despite the food issues. That's what it's all about and what we are learning from Medifast, right? "We eat to live, not live to eat."
