Medifast Convenience Foods

Now that summer is here we naturally become more mobile with all of our outdoor activities. Thank goodness Medifast meals are mobile too and easily adaptable to our busy lifestyle. I've outlined a few Medifast convenience foods below to help you stay on the fast track during your weight loss and maintenance program.

Mobile Medifast Meals

  • Ready to Drink Shakes (RTD) - These premixed Medifast shakes come in a carton with an attached straw. They taste the best when chilled and come in two flavors: Chocolate and Vanilla. Just grab and go or keep a small cooler in your car and keep them chilled on the go. If you are planning a trip for an extended stay, order a carton of the RTDs and have them shipped ahead to your destination.
  • Medifast Muffins - I love the Medifast oatmeal. My favorite way to prepare it is to make muffins out of it. Besides the bars, it is the one Medifast meal I find to be the most flexible as far as mobility. Check out my muffin recipes.
  • Crackers from Medifast Soup - If you like the soups but find them inconvenient for mobility, add a little baking powder and just enough water for the dough to be flexible. Then bake. Check out my recipe.
  • Medifast Cookies - Instead of muffins, some folks prefer to make their oatmeal into cookie shapes - drop by teaspoonfuls onto a baking sheet or chill the dough and then slice/bake. Works for me! Check out my cookie recipe.
  • Medifast Crackers and Soy Crisps - Although the crackers and soy crisps are not meals (they are considered snacks), one a day helps with in-between hunger and they are convenient.
  • Pre-Mix Shakes, Puddings - Premixing your shakes and puddings is very convenient for folks on the go. Just put them into a cooler and they are ready for you when you need them. Inexpensive Ziploc storage containers work well or the Take Shape For Life shaker jars are only $1.99 each.
  • Pre-Mix Soups - Premixing your soups helps hydrate the veggies and noodles. Some of my clients make a full pot at a time (7 servings) and then freeze them into small storage containers. Or pour them into a thermos.
  • Water-Packed Tuna - Although this isn't a Medifast brand meal, it is a highly mobile Lean meal when purchased in the foil packets. I've been known to eat water-packed tuna straight from the foil pouch on the road, in airports or wherever I travel that doesn't have an appropriate Lean meal handy.
