Medifast New Year's Resolution

There is one more holiday to get through this year and then I can reap the rewards of my Medifast diet efforts. I can only imagine how great it is going to feel to end the holidays actually weighing less. That has never happened before in my lifetime.

But just like everyone else, I did come up with a few Medifast New Year's Resolution for myself. Since I'm already on the road to weight loss and changing my meal planning for life, it should be the easiest resolutions to accomplish that I've ever done. Thanks to Medifast, of course.

My Medifast New Year's Resolutions

  • Weight Loss Goal - I pledge to continue following Medifast's diet plan losing an average of 12 pounds per month with a total of 85 pounds before my 47th birthday on May 1, 2007. If you've read my Medifast Blog before, you know that I woke up on my 46th birthday in extreme pain. I felt that making my final goal date on my 47th birthday would be appropriate. • Drink Plenty of Water - I pledge to continue to drink a minimum of 10 eight-ounce glasses of water a day.
  • Stay Active - I pledge to continue to walk a minimum of 40 minutes a day, six days a week and to spend at least one hour of my day doing some other type of household activity. Many of you know that I work from home at a computer for sometimes up to 12 hours a day. If I want to change my weight issues forever, I need to create more balance in my life.
  • Be Aware of My Weight - I pledge to weigh myself a minimum of every Monday and Thursday morning while in the weight loss phase of Medifast. Then at least every other day while in transition and maintenance so that I am fully aware of my weight at all times. It is too easy to ignore my weight by not stepping on the scale and that's a sure way for me to allow pounds to creep back on.
  • No More Fast Food - I pledge that once I reach my weight loss goal that I will pay more attention to the nutrition of the meals I prepare for myself. That means no more fast food but pre-planned meals that I prepare myself.
  • Eat Small, Frequent Meals - I pledge to continue to eat my meals what I call Medifast Style: 6 small meals a day spaced apart every 2-3 hours.

Here's the great part. I am already doing all of these resolutions. I've been doing them for nearly 3 months and they are starting to become second nature to me - good habits. So keeping these resolutions for life should be very easy to accomplish. I hope you find your own achievable personal Medifast goals for the new year too, and I hope you will share them with me as we continue our Medifast journey together.
