Visual Irritations
I don't know what's wrong with me ... lol ... but for some strange reason I'm at peace with the Medifast diet. I'm really not tempted to go off plan at all. But then I work from home and avoid any places where I might experience visual irritations. I call them visual irritations because even though they don't tempt me to go off plan, they do annoy me.
I'm a Taurus and probably the most stubborn person I know. Once I set my mind to doing something there's no moving my big butt away from my decision. It would take a crane of some magnitude.
I consider visual irritations to be anything that nags at me and not just high fat and high carb foods. For example, I have a ton of small projects I need to get done before I leave for my Vegas business trip in mid January. All of these tiny tasks have been nagging at me for months and yet I put them off every day. Most of them would only take a few minutes to complete and it would be one less thing I'd have to think about, right? In fact, as I write this blog entry, I could have probably finished at least one. So why am I procrastinating?
Procrastination has always been a thing with me yet when I do give in and put my mind to whatever project I'm delaying, I feel so much better.
If you are procrastinating about your weight loss, don't do it another minute. If you are worried about all those visual irritations you'll encounter, well, my best advice would be that they will always be there to annoy us. But the impact of how much they bug us isn't as severe as when we know we are on our way to succeeding with our goal.
I'm at peace with my decision to start doing something about my weight and avoid anything that visually irritates me. So now maybe I can get started on that long list of little tasks I need to finish. Just writing it down and acknowledging it helps me to make the decision to finally do it.
